Wartagate.com - The highly anticipated biopic "Michael" about the King of Pop Michael Jackson is facing a potential delay in its release. According to Variety, the film's release date, previously set for October 3, 2025, may be pushed back.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer hinted at the possible delay during the company's earnings call for Q4 2025.
"It's likely we'll move 'Michael' out of this fiscal year, which would impact fiscal '26 results, but would bolster an already strong fiscal '27 slate," Feltheimer said.
The exact release date will be announced in the coming weeks. Given the company's fiscal calendar ends on March 31, 2026, it's likely the film will premiere after April 1, 2026.
The biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael nephew, in his feature film debut.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, and Kendrick Sampson.
The 3.5-hour film tells the story of Michael Jackson's career, featuring iconic figures from the music industry. Despite the delay, fans are eagerly awaiting the film's release to get a glimpse into the life and career of the legendary musician.
