WartaGate.com – South Korean actress Go Youn Jung is confirmed to return to the small screen through her latest drama titled We Are All Trying Here.

Unlike her previous projects, this time she will appear in a story that explores mental health issues with a more emotional approach.

In the drama, Go Youn Jung plays the character Byeon Eun Ah, a producer who is struggling to achieve her dreams amid various life pressures. The character is portrayed as someone who not only faces career challenges but also deals with complex inner conflicts.

The story focuses on the journey of two main characters: aspiring film director Hwang Dong Man, played by Koo Kyo Hwan, and producer Byeon Eun Ah. Both characters wrestle with feelings of jealousy toward others’ success while trying to find peace within themselves.

Set in the film industry, the drama highlights the intense dynamics of a high-pressure work environment. This setting made it easier for Go Youn Jung to immerse herself in the role, as she felt it closely reflected real-life situations.

Interestingly, the drama does not only present a serious storyline. Go Youn Jung revealed that it also includes a unique comedic element—a blend of humor and dark undertones similar to the concept of a dark sitcom. This element is expected to add a distinctive touch and strengthen the overall narrative.

In addition, the emotional side of Byeon Eun Ah’s character becomes one of the drama’s main attractions. Instead of crying when experiencing stress or anxiety, the character suffers from nosebleeds as a physical manifestation of suppressed emotions.

Beyond career struggles, the drama will also explore the relationship between Eun Ah and Dong Man. Both are portrayed as individuals who feel unworthy, yet gradually come to understand each other and discover meaning in their connection.

Go Youn Jung hopes that through the character she portrays, viewers can see that feelings of worthlessness should not be denied. Instead, such feelings can become part of a process of self-understanding and discovering life’s meaning.

The drama We Are All Trying Here is scheduled to premiere on April 18, 2026, on the television network JTBC with a total of 12 episodes. It will also be available on the streaming platform Netflix with Indonesian subtitles, allowing global audiences to enjoy the series.
