WartaGate.com – South Korean entertainment agency Fantagio has finally spoken out regarding the tax controversy involving several of its artists, including Cha Eun Woo and Kim Seon Ho.
In an official statement released on Thursday (April 9), Fantagio issued an apology to the public for the concerns caused by the issue. The agency acknowledged weaknesses in its management system, particularly in handling artists’ tax matters.
Previously, Cha Eun Woo drew public attention due to allegations of tax evasion amounting to 20 billion won (approximately Rp230 billion). However, he has clarified that all outstanding tax obligations have been fully paid.
Meanwhile, Kim Seon Ho was also linked to a similar issue. He was accused of tax avoidance through a family-run production company. Nevertheless, the agency firmly denied the allegations and emphasized that no violations had occurred as reported.
Fantagio views this case not as an isolated incident, but as an important reminder that there are internal systems that need improvement. The agency recognizes that it holds full responsibility for managing all aspects of its artists’ activities, including legal and tax-related matters.
As part of its corrective measures, Fantagio has promised to conduct a comprehensive review of its internal management system. Planned efforts include strengthening pre-review procedures, particularly in tax and legal checks, to prevent issues before they arise.
In addition, the agency stated it will cooperate with relevant authorities and continue to enhance its internal control system to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Fantagio emphasized that public trust is its top priority. Therefore, the company is committed to making responsible changes moving forward.
