Wartagate.com - Lady Gaga has achieved a major milestone with her latest album, Mayhem, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. According to Luminate, as reported by Variety on Sunday, March 16, Mayhem marked the biggest opening week for an album by a female artist this year, earning an impressive 219,000 units in its debut week.

This marks a remarkable achievement for Gaga, as Mayhem also delivered her largest streaming debut to date, with a staggering 108 million streams, propelling the album to the top of the charts.

The album's success adds to her already impressive discography, which includes five other solo studio albums that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, such as Born This Way, Artpop, Joanne, and Chromatica.

Gaga also saw success with soundtracks like A Star Is Born and Cheek to Cheek, a collaboration with jazz legend Tony Bennett.

Ahead of the release of Mayhem, Gaga offered 14 different physical variants of the album, including limited edition vinyl, CDs, and cassette tapes featuring the original cover art.

The decision to release multiple physical versions helped propel Mayhem to record-breaking sales in its opening week.

Of the 219,000 units, 136,000 were album sales, making Mayhem the top-selling album of the week. Vinyl sales were particularly impressive, reaching 74,000 units, setting a new career-high for Gaga in vinyl sales.

One of the standout singles from Mayhem is “Abracadabra,” which was first teased by Gaga during a commercial break at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The single was officially released on the same day as the album's release in March. The album's tracklist also includes previously released singles like “Disease,” “Abracadabra,” and “Die With A Smile,” a collaboration with Bruno Mars.

Meanwhile, in other notable chart news, Blackpink’s Jennie made her debut at No. 7 as a solo artist with her album Ruby. The album amassed 56,000 units in its first week, with nearly 40 million streams and 26,500 physical album sales. Ruby features collaborations with artists such as Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, Dua Lipa, and Kali Uchis. This marks the third Blackpink member to land an album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, following Rosie by Rosé at No. 3 and Alter Ego by Lisa at No. 7.

The rest of the top 10 on the Billboard 200 this week includes Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, which holds the No. 2 spot with 81,000 units.

artyNextDoor and Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U debuts at No. 3, while SZA’s SOS remains steady at No. 4. Other notable debuts and albums in the top 10 include So Close To What by Tate McRae at No. 5, Short n' Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter at No. 6, Debí Tirar Más Fotos by Bad Bunny at No. 8, One Thing at a Time by Morgan Wallen at No. 9, and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan at No. 10.
