Park Bo Gum in Talks to Star in Historical Action Film The Sword

Wartagate.com - South Korean actor Park Bo Gum is currently in discussions to take on the lead role in the upcoming historical action film The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf.

According to a report from Soompi on Monday, the film will be directed by renowned filmmaker Kim Han Min, known for his expertise in historical action movies. Park Bo Gum has been offered the main role in this highly anticipated project.

"Park Bo Gum has received an offer to star in director Kim Han Min’s film 'The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf' and is currently reviewing it," stated THEBLACKLABEL, the actor’s agency.

Kim Han Min has an impressive portfolio of historical action films, including War of the Arrows, The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Hansan: Rising Dragon, and Noryang: Deadly Sea. Park Bo Gum previously collaborated with the director a decade ago in The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014), where he played a supporting role before rising to stardom.

Set in the aftermath of the fall of Pyongyang Castle of Goguryeo, The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf follows a warrior who has lost his memory and becomes entangled in an intense battle among five factions, all vying for the legendary Godumakhan Sword of Goguryeo. The film is expected to begin production as early as August.

Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum continues to captivate audiences worldwide through the Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. He is also set to return to television screens in May with JTBC’s upcoming weekend drama Good Boy.
