Anri Sakaguchi Arrested After Allegedly Stealing a Rp32,000 Sandwich at a Convenience Store in Japan

WartaGate.com – Former Japanese adult film actress Anri Sakaguchi is once again in the public spotlight after being arrested by police for a minor theft case. She is accused of taking a sandwich worth 300 yen, or approximately Rp32,000, from a convenience store in Japan.

According to local media reports on Thursday (March 26), the arrest was carried out by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department through the Tachikawa Police Station. The incident took place at a convenience store in Hachioji on March 17, 2016.

The case began when a store employee noticed suspicious behavior from Anri Sakaguchi. After confirming the alleged theft, the store immediately reported the incident to the police. Shortly after, Anri was detained and taken in for questioning.

During the interrogation, she reportedly admitted to the theft. Although the value of the stolen item was relatively small, the case has once again added to the list of controversies in her personal life.

Previously, she had also drawn public attention due to her turbulent personal life. She is known to have been married and divorced twice, and had openly spoken about her experience with abortion. After her second divorce in November 2025, she hinted at experiencing financial difficulties.

In addition, Anri has been involved in other legal issues, including allegations of extorting money from a male fan. In 2019, she also faced legal trouble after allegedly stalking her ex-boyfriend and entering his home without permission.

At the end of 2024, Anri briefly deactivated her social media accounts, stating that she wanted to live as an ordinary person. She has also revealed that she was once hospitalized due to panic disorder and other mental health issues.

Anri Sakaguchi is the daughter of the late Ryoko Sakaguchi, a well-known Japanese actress who passed away in 2013. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Anri began her career in the entertainment industry as a second-generation actress before announcing her retirement in September 2017.

Throughout her career, she appeared in several films such as Omote to Ura Dai2sho (2015) and Honey Flappers (2014). However, her career journey has also included various other jobs outside of acting, including involvement in the adult entertainment industry and other professions.
