WartaGate.com – The Korean drama industry is once again heating up with intense competition. A number of new titles continue to appear, each trying to capture viewers’ attention with fresh storylines and star-studded casts.

Amid the tight competition for ratings during prime time, a new series has managed to attract public attention. The drama is Mad Concrete Dreams, starring Ha Jung Woo.

This thriller drama has shown a positive trend since its premiere. According to data from Nielsen Korea, the second episode that aired on Sunday (March 15) recorded an increase in viewership.

The episode achieved an average nationwide rating of 4.5 percent. This figure rose from the first episode, which aired a day earlier on Saturday (March 14) and recorded a 4.1 percent rating.

With that achievement, Mad Concrete Dreams ranked first in its time slot across all cable channels, an encouraging result for a drama that has just begun its broadcast.

The drama tells the story of Ki Soo Jong, a character played by Ha Jung Woo. He is portrayed as a building owner who is facing severe financial pressure.

Burdened by massive debt, Ki Soo Jong becomes involved in a fake kidnapping scheme. He takes the desperate step in an attempt to protect his family while also saving the building that means so much to him.

The tense storyline and moral conflicts are among the elements that have drawn viewers’ attention since the drama first aired.

Besides Mad Concrete Dreams, several other Korean dramas are also competing for ratings over the weekend.

The drama Doctor Shin from TV Chosun maintained an average nationwide rating of 1.4 percent for its second episode.

Meanwhile, The Practical Guide to Love, which airs on JTBC, recorded an average nationwide rating of 4.5 percent for the second half of its latest episode.

On the other hand, Recipe for Love from KBS2 remained the most-watched program over the weekend. The series achieved an average nationwide rating of 15.4 percent, making it the most popular show during that time.

With many new dramas entering the lineup, the competition for ratings in the South Korean entertainment industry is expected to become even fiercer. Each series is striving to attract audiences through engaging stories, high production quality, and performances from top actors.

If the upward trend in viewership continues, Mad Concrete Dreams could become one of the most talked-about Korean dramas of this season.
