“Colony” Korean Zombie Film Surpasses 2 Million Viewers in Just 5 Days

According to data from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Colony officially reached a total of 2,000,005 viewers on May 25, 2026. The film was first released in South Korean theaters on May 21, 2026.

This achievement makes Colony the fastest Korean film released in 2026 to surpass the 2 million viewer mark. Previously, the movie also set a record as the fastest film this year to reach 1 million viewers in only four days.

The film stars several well-known South Korean actors, including Jun Ji Hyun, Ji Chang Wook, Go Soo, and Koo Kyo Hwan.

Colony presents a tense story about a mysterious virus outbreak inside a skyscraper in Seoul.

The story begins during a major biotechnology company conference held in downtown Seoul. Professor Kwon Se Jeong, played by Jun Ji Hyun, attends the event after being invited by her ex-husband, Han Gyu Seong (Go Soo), who wants to offer her a new job opportunity.

At the same location, many people gather, including building security staff member Choi Hyun Seok, portrayed by Ji Chang Wook.

At first, the conference proceeds normally. However, the situation quickly turns chaotic when a brilliant biologist named Seo Young Cheol (Koo Kyo Hwan) launches a bioterror attack.

He releases a deadly virus that transforms infected people into violent, bloodthirsty creatures.

The government and investigation teams immediately respond by sealing off the entire building to prevent the virus from spreading throughout Seoul.

The people trapped inside the building are forced to survive alongside those who have already been infected. The situation becomes even more terrifying as the virus begins to evolve and grow increasingly dangerous.

With its intense tension and thrilling survival story, Colony has become one of the most highly anticipated Korean films of the year. The movie is scheduled to premiere in Indonesian theaters on June 3, 2026.
