Tax Controversy Ongoing, Cha Eun Woo Remains Active in the Military Band

WartaGate.com – Cha Eun Woo is once again in the public spotlight. Amid allegations of tax irregularities involving him, the actor and singer has continued carrying out his military duties as usual.

In several photos circulating on social media, Cha Eun Woo is seen wearing a formal military uniform and performing with a military band orchestra. He is also seen giving a salute like other service members. In one of his appearances, he performed a hymn titled One Candle.

This appearance comes as his tax case continues to draw attention. Earlier this year, on January 22, Cha Eun Woo was reported to be under investigation by Seoul tax authorities over alleged discrepancies in his tax filings. Following the investigation, he was said to have been assigned a substantial additional tax payment.

Responding to the controversy, Cha Eun Woo eventually spoke out. Through his personal Instagram account on April 8, he issued an apology to the public and his fans for the concern and confusion caused.

In his statement, he explained that he had been cautious in making comments because administrative procedures were still ongoing at the time. Nevertheless, he emphasized that he respects all processes carried out by the tax authorities.

He also confirmed that the tax obligations in question have been fully settled. In addition, he pledged to comply with any remaining procedures to prevent further misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, his military service continues as scheduled. Cha Eun Woo began his mandatory service on July 28, 2025, serving as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army’s military band. Prior to that, he completed basic training at a military training center in Nonsan. He is expected to complete his service in January 2027.

Although the controversy has yet to fully subside, his presence in military activities shows that he continues to fulfill his responsibilities. However, the case remains a topic of public and fan attention.
