K-Pop Group Kiss of Life Apologizes for Cultural Insensitivity in Live Stream

 Wartagarte.com - Kiss of Life, a K-pop group under S2 Entertainment, has issued a written apology amid controversy surrounding their live stream earlier this week. 

According to Soompi on Saturday (5/4), the group's live stream to celebrate Julie's birthday sparked criticism for showing cultural insensitivity.

S2 Entertainment released an official statement on April 3, 2025, addressing the issue, and the members of Kiss of Life uploaded personal apology letters on April 6, 2025, Korean time. 

"We apologize. Our intention was to show how much we love old-school hip-hop because it has greatly influenced our music. While recording content, we ended up taking the concept too far. We realize now that our content was not culturally sensitive, and we take full responsibility for our actions and can only promise to do better," the group members said to their fan community, known as Kissys.

The group members expressed that they have reflected on the impact of their actions and are striving to improve themselves to avoid making similar mistakes in the future.

 "We know that there's nothing we can say or do that will magically fix the mistake we made. The only thing we can promise is that we will continue to educate ourselves and show our sincerity through our actions, not words," they said.
