Wartagate.com - A new documentary by TMZ claims that Justin Bieber was facing financial difficulties when he sold his song catalog in December 2022.
According to the documentary, titled TMZ Investigates, What Happened to Justin Bieber?, Bieber sold his collection of nearly 300 songs to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for $200 million because he was on the verge of "financial collapse."
The documentary alleges that Bieber had amassed around $500 million to $1 billion throughout his career, but had to sell his music catalog due to financial struggles.
These struggles are said to have been caused in part by debts incurred after the cancellation of his Justice World Tour in 2022.
TMZ's executive producer, Harvey Levin, claims that Bieber's manager at the time, Scooter Braun, suggested waiting until January 2023 to sell the catalog to get tax benefits, but Bieber insisted on selling it immediately.
The documentary also raises questions about how Bieber spent his wealth, with allegations of lavish spending on tour buses, private jets, and luxury homes.
The documentary's claims come a month after The Hollywood Reporter published a similar story, citing Bieber's financial struggles and debts after canceling his tour. Bieber's representatives have not commented on the allegations.
