Chat with Min Hee Jin Used as Evidence, V of BTS Admits He Was Surprised

The conflict, which has been ongoing for some time, has now entered a new phase after private conversations were brought into the courtroom.

During proceedings at the Seoul Central District Court, a chat between Min Hee Jin and V of BTS was reportedly submitted as evidence.

The conversation was said to be related to allegations of conceptual similarities between the groups ILLIT and NewJeans.

Previously, the court granted Min Hee Jin’s lawsuit concerning a 25.5 million won share claim.

The ruling required HYBE to pay compensation. Amid the legal process, documents surfaced referencing allegations that ILLIT had imitated NewJeans’ concept, an issue that had already sparked widespread discussion from the beginning.

According to circulated court documents, excerpts of messages exchanged via a messaging app showed V responding to Min Hee Jin’s opinion about the alleged similarities.

He was reported to have written that he also noticed the resemblance and had thought the concepts did appear similar.

The widespread media coverage prompted V to speak out. Through his personal Instagram Story, the idol, whose real name is Kim Tae Hyung shared a screenshot of an article discussing the contents of the chat.

He emphasized that the message he sent was simply part of an everyday private conversation.

V explained that his message was sent as a gesture of empathy toward someone he knows. He also stressed that he had no intention of taking sides in the conflict.

Furthermore, V admitted he was surprised that his private conversation was used as court evidence without his consent.

As of now, the court has not issued an official statement regarding the controversy surrounding the use of the conversation.

However, V of BTS being drawn into the case has further intensified public interest in the dispute between Min Hee Jin and HYBE, sparking various reactions from fans and the general public.
