WartaGate.com – Former AOA member Kwon Mina has finally spoken out after the legal process surrounding the sexual violence case she experienced since her teenage years reached its final stage.
Through a social media post on May 19, 2026, Mina poured out her feelings about the long struggle she endured over more than four years of court proceedings.
In her statement, Mina admitted that the process became one of the hardest periods of her life. She said the lengthy legal battle drained her emotionally and mentally.
Even so, Mina felt some relief because the court eventually acknowledged part of the charges she filed against the perpetrator.
From the beginning, Mina had hoped that all of her accusations would be accepted by the judge, including allegations of physical assault so the perpetrator could receive a heavier sentence. However, the court’s final ruling only approved the rape charge.
Meanwhile, the allegations related to physical violence could not be processed further because some of the incidents had exceeded the legal statute of limitations.
For Mina, the court’s recognition carried great meaning as a victim. She said that having at least one charge acknowledged was enough to prove that the painful experiences she had shared over the years truly happened.
Mina also spoke about the social conditions in the past that caused many victims of sexual violence to remain silent. According to her, many survivors were afraid to speak up because they feared being judged negatively by society.
Because of that, she tried to offer moral support to other victims so they would not blame themselves and would have the courage to seek justice. Mina said victims often feel alone when facing a long and exhausting legal process.
Aside from discussing the court ruling, Mina also expressed gratitude to the police and prosecutors who accompanied her throughout the legal proceedings.
Despite feeling relieved, Mina admitted that she still has to deal with other legal matters that continue to affect her mental condition.
For the time being, she has chosen to focus on healing herself and calming her mind after going through a long struggle that drained both her energy and emotions.
At the end of her message, Mina revealed that she felt as though she had finally let go of one huge burden in her life. However, she realized there are still other processes she will have to face in the future.
Kwon Mina first revealed her experience of sexual violence in 2023 through a YouTube program. At the time, she said the incident happened when she was still in middle school.
Since making the revelation, Mina has repeatedly shared her mental struggles and lingering trauma through her personal social media accounts.
