The Roundup 5 Adds a New Star, Seo Hyun Woo Ready to Act Alongside Ma Dong Seok

WartaGate.com - South Korean actor Seo Hyun Woo has officially joined the upcoming action film project, The Roundup 5. The news was announced directly by his agency, JUST Entertainment, on May 18, 2026.

Seo Hyun Woo’s participation has increased fans’ excitement, considering that the film series is known as one of the most successful action franchises in South Korea.

In its official statement, the agency revealed that the actor will star alongside Ma Dong Seok and Kim Jae Yeong in the movie. The three actors are scheduled to begin filming in the second half of 2026.

Seo Hyun Woo is no stranger to the Korean entertainment industry. The 42-year-old actor has built his career since 2010 and is widely recognized for his strong acting skills across various genres.

His popularity grew through appearances in several well-known projects such as A Taxi Driver, Flower of Evil, Uncle Samsik, Veteran, and My Mister.

Meanwhile, The Roundup series is known for having a massive fanbase. The films follow detective Ma Seok Do as he faces dangerous criminal cases and powerful crime organizations. The character is played by Ma Dong Seok, who has become the main icon of the franchise.

The franchise began with The Outlaws, which was released in 2017. Its success continued with several sequels, including The Roundup: No Way Out and The Roundup: Punishment.

The latest three films each surpassed 10 million moviegoers in South Korean theaters.
