Wartagate.com - Mel Gibson and his partner, Rosalind Ross, have officially ended their romantic relationship after nearly nine years together.
The breakup marks the end of a long journey for the couple, who share a significant age gap and have a son named Lars.
In a joint statement, Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross emphasized that although their relationship as a couple has come to an end, their commitment as parents remains their top priority.
Both agreed to continue raising Lars, who is now eight years old, with full responsibility and love.
Several international media outlets reported that the decision to separate had actually been made quietly around a year ago. However, the couple only revealed the news to the public in late December 2025.
Mel Gibson, now 69 years old, first met Rosalind Ross in 2014. Not long after that meeting, the two began a serious relationship.
Two years later, news of Ross’s pregnancy emerged, and in 2017 they officially welcomed the birth of their son, Lars.
The birth of their son became a special memory for Gibson. At the time, he was at the peak of his career as a director after receiving an Academy Award nomination for the film Hacksaw Ridge.
Gibson even shared his happiness at being able to watch the Oscar nomination announcement while holding his newborn baby.
Rosalind Ross is known as the third woman with whom the actor, born on January 3, 1956, had a serious relationship.
Previously, Mel Gibson married Robyn Moore in 1980 and divorced in 2011. From that marriage, Gibson has seven children. Afterward, he dated Oksana Grigorieva, with their relationship ending in 2010.
With the end of his relationship with Rosalind Ross, Mel Gibson is now known to have eight children and, as of 2024, has become a grandfather to seven grandchildren.
Despite changes in his personal life, Gibson and Ross have agreed to maintain a good relationship for the sake of their son’s future.
