In his statement, Jo Yoon Woo opened his message by wishing his fans a Happy New Year. He then revealed that he has found a special person whom he wishes to make his life partner.

Not only did he talk about marriage, but Jo Yoon Woo also conveyed another major and equally surprising decision,  his retirement from the entertainment industry. He admitted that he had carefully considered this step before finally sharing it with the public.

Jo Yoon Woo explained that for the past 15 years, his life has been heavily focused on acting since his debut at the age of 21. However, he now wants to shift his life priorities.

He feels that he has found someone he wants to protect for the rest of his life, and therefore chose to step away from the spotlight to build a simpler and more peaceful family life.

At the end of his message, Jo Yoon Woo also asked for prayers and support from the public for his new life. He revealed that he has been in a relationship with his partner for more than four years, whom he also described as his closest friend.

Jo Yoon Woo began his entertainment career in 2011 through the drama Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. His decision to retire marks the end of his long journey in the South Korean entertainment industry and at the same time opens a new chapter in his life as a family man.
